K.C. makes the most of sunshine band

On a day of sporadic downpours in the North only two of the four scheduled NoSCA Senior League fixtures were played to completion.

The big winners of the day were Highland, who routed Nairn for just 24 all out at Fraser Park. Paceman Kacey Clement lead the way with seven wickets for just eight runs - six of his victims being cleaned bowled! Johnathan Crabtree picked up the other three wickets and Kenny Cameron hit 24 not out to speed the home team to victory before the monsoon arrived.

Over at Linzee Gordon Park, Buckie maintained their title challenge with a 84 run victory over Fort William. Dan Walls top scored for the home team with 44 and victory was secured thanks to three wickets apiece for Ant Wilson and Barry Newlands.

The game between Fochabers and Ross County was called off before a ball had been bowled and the fixture between Forres and Elgin did not pass the half way mark, with Elgin having posted a creditable 135 for nine off 42 overs.

With a break next Saturday for the Senior Twenty/20 competition, the league title is still a four-way race going into the final four rounds of fixtures on August 2nd, and Highland will have a major say in the destination of the title with Kacey Clement now hitting the stumps at great pace on a regular basis!

Game of the day in two weeks time will be Forres visting the 'grassy knoll' of Fraser Park!
